The rain has finally stopped and it’s time to enjoy the nice weather, what better way than to plant a garden! The Monroe Community Development Group will be sponsoring a community garden this summer. The garden will be located southeast of the Monroe City Hall building. Produce will be purchased from the PCM High School greenhouse and PCM horticulture students will have the opportunity to participate in the project.
Volunteers will be needed to help weed and water the garden throughout the summer. The Monroe Community Development Group has planned a garden work day on May 10th at 1:00 p.m. Produce will be available for the Monroe Food Pantry and also to the public. Those interested in volunteering are welcome to attend the work day or contact Liz Hormann 259-2019 or Kim Thomas 259-2319 for more details.
